About
Furniture is not parcels.
It arrives in pieces, from several suppliers, on a truck with a two-person crew, into someone’s home. We built the system that assumption deserves.
Why we exist
The middle was missing.
Last-mile platforms solve routing and proof of delivery well — and treat delivery as an isolated event, disconnected from sourcing and inventory. Enterprise ERPs model the whole business and cost more than a small retailer’s delivery operation earns.
So independent furniture retailers end up running the most complicated part of their business on a point-of-sale system, a spreadsheet, and a clipboard — correlating the three by memory.
Crateway is the missing middle: vertical enough to know what a three-piece sectional with one backordered part actually requires, small enough that a six-truck operation can justify it.
How we build
Four rules we don't bend.
The customer's order is sacred
Supplier problems are our problem to model. Re-sourcing never rewrites what someone bought.
Nothing is overwritten
Cancellations and amendments create linked records pointing back. That is what makes a dispute resolvable.
Evidence at every handoff
Photos and signatures at pickup, receipt, loading and delivery. Damage claims stop being he-said-she-said.
Offline is the normal case
Basements and rural roads have no signal. Any workflow a driver touches must work without one.
Who we build for
Operations, not enterprises.
- Independent and regional furniture retailers running their own fleet, contractors, or both.
- Businesses sourcing the same product from several suppliers at different prices and lead times.
- Teams who have outgrown paper but can't justify enterprise pricing — and are done retyping the same order into three systems.
Tell us how you deliver. We’ll price it around that.
Every operation runs differently — fleet, contractors, or both. A short conversation gets you a quote that fits yours.
